Our workspace
At House of Minds, every element of our environment, from the art on the walls to the light shining through our windows, has been intentionally designed to calm the nervous system, spark curiosity, and support growth. Research in child psychology and environmental neuroscience shows that surroundings deeply influence how children regulate emotion, focus attention, and engage in learning. Our west-end Toronto clinic applies these findings directly: tall ceilings, large windows, and abundant natural light promote a sense of safety and openness. Living greenery and natural textures lower stress and enhance mood regulation. Every design choice supports the science of well-being.
Located near Bloor and Lansdowne, our clinic is part of a heritage building that also hosts the Museum of Contemporary Art, Pride Toronto, and the Toronto Biennial of Art. We chose this setting very intentionally, as it reflects our belief that children and teens flourish in creative, community-driven environments that celebrate diversity, imagination, and connection. The result is a therapeutic space that feels alive, artful, and far removed from the sterile, formal, and often intimidating atmospheres of traditional clinics and medical centers.
At House of Minds, therapy doesn’t always look like therapy. Our rooms are equipped with life-sized games, mini-sports, art supplies, and a growing library designed to meet children and teens where they are. For some, that means using creative play to explore emotions; for others, it means conversation and reflection in a relaxed, non-clinical space. Everything, literally everything, from the seating arrangements to the resources on the shelves, has been selected to promote agency, safety, and meaningful engagement.
Our clinicians understand that safety is the foundation of healing. The space is organized around predictability, choice, and sensory comfort: adjustable lighting, soft textures, quiet rooms, and opportunities for movement or grounding. These design features allow each client to feel in control, which is essential in trauma-informed therapy.
We know that families want to feel confident that their child is in good hands and in the right environment. Our waiting areas are calm, bright, and welcoming, with resources that explain our approaches and celebrate progress. Whether you’re visiting for an assessment, consultation, or ongoing therapy, our goal is for every family to leave feeling seen, supported, and hopeful.
We’re conveniently located in the west end of Toronto, accessible by TTC and major transit routes. We welcome you to book a consultation or schedule a visit to experience how our environment and evidence-based care come together to support mental health and development.
